The Blue Angel is dead... Long live the Blue Angel!

The Blue Angel Poets' Dive, SL's longest running literary venue (and one of my very favourite places to be in SL) is moving to a new location and new build.

Announced on 30 May by owner and SL poetess extraordinaire, Persephone Phoenix, the venue for the famed Sunday Open Mic event (5pm SLT) will be moving to Kolor, where a sumptuous new build has been constructed jointly by Nestra Careless, Kolor Fall and Nickola Martynov.  The Open Mic will take place at the new venue from Sunday 6 June onwards.

The old Blue Angel, venue for many, many wonderful readings...

The new venue.  And it can be found at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kolor/17/137/1499

The Blue Angel Poets' Dive has been delivering literary events in SL since 2006.  Long may it continue to do so.

Blue Angel Landing issue 1

We're getting perilously close to launching a print version of Blue Angel Landing (initially mentioned here). In the meantime - and courtesy of www.issuu.com - you can browse the electronic version right here. Flip forwards and backwards through the magazine using the arrows to the left and right of the pages and click on the magazine itself to view fullscreen.

Blue Angel Landing launches

Issue One of Blue Angel Landing, the SL poetry journal I've been working on with Persephone Phoenix and Shara Levanque, is now available. It's 44 pages of poetry performed at the Blue Angel Poets' Dive and quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I've ever produced. And I have two poems published this issue.

You can currently read them by visiting http://www.blueangellanding.com/ and flipping through the online Flash version. Persephone will be publishing an inworld version presently and we'll also be making a PDF version available. There's a print version on the way also, courtesy of http://www.lulu.com/

Off the Shelf

I get a mention in the latest edition of Off the shelf, an audio podcast by Bookstacks managers Kghia Gherardi and Simeon Beresford. The episode features an excellent interview with Persephone Pheonix, with whom I am currently working on the Blue Angel Landing poetry anthology (together with Shara Levenque). We're hoping the anthology will be ready by mid-April to coincide with National Poetry Writing Month; it will feature poems which have been read aloud at the weekly Blue Angel open mic event.

The podcast is free to download, just click on the link above.
